The Hurst Design-Build Process
Over the years, Hurst Design-Build-Remodeling has established systems and developed a process to make each client’s
remodeling experience enjoyable from start to finish. During your project you can expect creative thinking, detailed
planning and organized management from each member of the Hurst team. Before construction begins, you will know
what your project will look like, how much it will cost, and how long it will take to complete. Our process eliminates
surprises and guarantees your project’s timely completion to your exact specifications. Here’s how…

Our service starts with a simple consultation. One of our project
consultants will come to your home to discuss your ideas, challenges,
needs and wants. We evaluate your existing home, give some design
suggestions and determine what your priorities are with your remodel.
Together, we review the design and building process, as well as the
desired investment you wish to make in your home. This enables us to
design a project that fits within your budget. |

Our design and estimating departments then create a list of goals and
a preliminary scope of work, while targeting an investment range that
helps guide the design process. An e-folder is then created that enables
our entire design/build team and you, the homeowner, to view documents
and designs from anywhere you have Internet access. With this tool we
can communicate design ideas or changes quickly and conveniently.

The design process begins in the conceptual design stage. This starts with a
detailed site inspection. Hurst measures your home’s existing structure and
inspects its mechanical systems to get an accurate assessment of your
home’s current conditions. Our designers then generate visual renderings
that are presented to you for review. We discuss ideas and get feedback
as we revise the design to suit your lifestyle.

Once the basic design is approved, we then begin the design development
stage. Here we begin to focus on details such as materials, finishes and
appliance choices. A Hurst designer works with you one-on-one in selecting
the products that will be incorporated into your project. From tile patterns
and cabinetry to countertops and hardware, every selection is done with
care to meet your unique needs and style.

Hurst prepares a Specifications Document, a comprehensive description
of designs and product selections you will then approve. This includes a
detailed description of the construction process. We review this document
with you to ensure accuracy in detail and communication.

We then present the Construction Agreement and final design drawings for
approval. A guaranteed completion date is also provided at this time.

While the permits are being processed, we begin to prepare your project
for construction. A Production Manager and on-site Lead Carpenter is
assigned to your project to ensure the most comprehensive planning and
preparation so your project is delivered on time with precision and quality.
A detailed construction schedule is created and resources are prepared.

Your Hurst Design/Build Team then meets with you to review the project
construction details and processes before we begin. Your Designer, Lead
Carpenter and Production Manager review the scope of work and what
you can expect during the construction of your project.

As construction progresses, our Lead Carpenters conduct weekly project
reviews in order to keep you informed with our progress. This includes
our weekly systems check used to ensure we are meeting your
satisfaction from safety, to cleanliness and everything in between.

Throughout the project, our production department performs a series of
quality control inspections to ensure every phase of construction meets
our level of craftsmanship and quality. Once we near project completion,
your Lead Carpenter will perform a final inspection walk-through with you to ensure your complete satisfaction. |

Once your project is complete, you will receive a detailed packet that will
include a copy of all your project’s warranty information. We will also ask
you to complete a satisfaction survey, as we are always looking for ways
to provide an even better remodeling experience for our clients. Your
feedback is valued and appreciated.
